Major Dilemma

Let’s talk about school baby, let’s talk about you and me…….

College is supposed to be a time of exploring. And that is entirely possible….if you allow yourself to do it. I’m not talking about personal exploration. No, this post is strictly academic.

I’m talking about the reason we are all here: to graduate with a degree in something we ACTUALLY enjoy.

Let me tell you, it is a journey my friends.

Now, I am not an esteemed faculty member, nor do I have any professional qualifications to advise someone academically, but I do have some experience on the highs and lows of finding a major.

Here are some tips and tricks of my wise (two) years as a higher-education student:

  1. If you aren’t 10000000% certain on what you want to do when you get to college, go undecided.
  2. Take classes in literally everything.
  3. Go to see an advisor if you start to freak out.
  4. Talk with friends and family about where you see yourself.
  5. Speak to professors about classes you might enjoy.
  6. If it’s stressing you out to the point of a mental breakdown, it’s probably not worth it.
  7. Finally, follow your heart.

It took me a year and a half to find out that I should just do what I love. I eventually followed my yellow-brick road to Media and Journalism studies. I realized I liked to write and create (as I have stated on this blog 12045973 times) and I realized I could do it. Like study it. And even possibly get paid for it. What? See college is cool.

So do what ya want, what ya want with ya body. (#Gaga)

As for my Spotify recommendation, just follow me and my moods. Literally all of my playlists are fire and they can help #inspire you and #motivate you to be your best-self.

Enjoy everything about college, be happy, and do things for YOU!!

A wonderful depiction of me before finals my first-year. Delirium was setting in as I tried to force myself to like a subject I hated. But I survived, and you can too.
